There are certain objects and apparati which were in use among the Tamils. Some of them are still around.
                But they are all unnoticeable.
But the had/have their uses and have names and parts. The parts also have their names.

The old big temples have huge doors. They have very strong bolts and locks in the inside. It would take two persons to push the doors shut and bolt and lock them from the inside.
After locking from the inside, the temple employees get out of the temple. For this they use a small door. This is actually a door within a door. This door is about one metre by one metre and is placed about 0.75 metres above the ground level.

There is a technic by which you get out or enter through this door.
First, the left leg is placed outside through the door. Then the left shoulder and hand are put forward through the door. The torso comes out. Once most of the body is out, the weight of the body is shifted to the left leg. After maintaining a balance, the right leg is extricated out through the door.

Once outside, they lock the smaller door with strong locks.
This small door is known as the 'Thitti Vaasal'.

The position that the body is made to take, reminds me about a real incident.......
